Following a week of gains, the stock market experienced a period of small fluctuations with low liquidity, ending the week with slight declines in both the VN-Index and HNX-Index.

The stock market concluded August with a modest gain, as liquidity continued to dwindle due to low investor sentiment ahead of Việt Nam's National Day holiday. Despite the ongoing drop in liquidity, the VN-Index ended the week with its fourth consecutive day of slight gains.

The State Securities Commission of Việt Nam (SSC) has warned the public to exercise caution when receiving invitations to join online stock investment forums or groups, or when downloading, installing and using trading applications (apps).

The stock market was quiet on Thursday due to low investor sentiment ahead of the long holidays. Despite a sharp drop in liquidity, the VN-Index was able to hold steady around the 1,280 point mark.

Benchmark indices extended gains on Wednesday, supported by strong rallies in the banking and manufacturing sectors, while foreign investors continued their net selling streak for the sixth consecutive session.

Shares on the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) edged up on Tuesday, with the rally occurring in the final minutes of trading, thanks to the recovery of some large-cap stocks.
